Reasons You May Want Breast Augmentation
-
Naturally Small Breasts
Patients who think their natural breasts are too small may feel uncomfortable in their clothes or that their breasts are not proportional to their bodies. Augmentation can help you look and feel more confident in your favorite clothes and swimwear.
-
Change in Size After Pregnancy
Changes in breast size due to pregnancy and breastfeeding can leave the breasts smaller and deflated. Breast augmentation can help restore your breasts to their original fullness.
-
Sagging Breasts
Significant weight loss, aging, or pregnancy can cause breasts to sag. Breast augmentation (sometimes performed with a breast lift) can help bring them back to their previous, youthful shape.
-
Breast Revision
If you have previously had breast surgery that did not turn out the way you wanted, it can cause you to feel less confident. A second augmentation (revision) procedure can be done to correct any issues.
-
Asymmetrical Breasts
Noticeably asymmetrical breasts can make it hard to find clothes and undergarments that fit properly and can negatively affect your self-esteem. Augmentation surgery can help correct any imbalance.
-
You’re Not Sure
If you are not sure why you feel dissatisfied with your breasts but you know you may be missing something, we can help you with your decision with our detailed consultations. No concern is too small for us to address.

Things to Know About Breast Augmentation
Consultation
You will meet with Dr. Strawn one-on-one to discuss your medical history, the results you desire, and the techniques that will best help you achieve your goals. He will also address any questions or concerns you may have. In-depth consultations help ensure that you have a comfortable relationship with your doctor and that you trust him to give you the look you want.
Implant Options
Saline implants are made of an outer silicone shell filled with a sterile saline (saltwater) solution. These can be prefilled to a particular size or be filled at the time of surgery to allow for adjustments to be made.
Silicone implants are made of an outer silicone shell filled with a cohesive silicone gel. These are said to feel more natural than saline implants.
Implant Location
Your implants will be placed either under the pectoral muscles (submuscular) or over the pectoral muscles (subglandular). Placement depends on many factors, and Dr. Strawn will make a recommendation on the best choice for you.
Incision Options
Like the location of your implants, the type of incision used will also depend on several factors. The incisions for breast augmentation are most commonly made either around the areolas or beneath the breasts at the crease. Dr. Strawn will help you decide what option is best for you to get the results you desire.
Fat Grafting
Fat grafting is often used along with implants to refine the look of your breasts and cleavage. Dr. Strawn is an expert at using patient-harvested fat grafting to create more naturally contoured breasts.
Combining With Breast Lift
Patients with breast ptosis, or sagging, who desire a more prominent bustline may want to consider combining augmentation with mastopexy. Mastopexy, commonly known as breast lift surgery, reshapes and repositions the breasts for a youthful, aesthetically pleasing appearance.
